ROYAL AFRICAN VOLUNTEERING WEEK

ROYAL AFRICAN VOLUNTEERING WEEK

On Thursday 26th of August, 2021, Aquaworld Timeout team at Akure commemorated the Royal Volunteering week in grand style by organizing a plastic mop-up program at FUTA community (Southgate axis to be précised).

Residents of the mentioned community often discard PET/plastic bottles after singles use which promotes littering of landfills and drainage channels with plastics and most times turn to plastic dumpsite.

The plastic mop up started from FUTA southgate through Apatapiti, stateline and, RCF street, ending at embassy street. After the mop up, over 300 PET bottles were retrieved and handed to a recycler in the region.
