TONNES OF TRASH CLEANED

HUNDREDS OF YOUTHS ENGAGED

The timeout team of Aquaworld commemorated this year’s world clean-up day in grand style by being engaged in four different events in 3 states in Nigeria.

The Akure Timeout team partnered with Alluvia Unique concept , Eleven Eleven twelve foundation, Elomgreenie, Futuresavers Sustainable Development Initiative, Plogging Nigeria, Yali network (Ondo chapter) and the Ondo state waste management authority to organize a clean up and sensitization program at the popular Kings market (Oja Oba) at Akure.

The participants of the event were involved in the clean-up exercise,  awareness and sensitization program for the traders in the market on proper waste disposal and cleaning of the drainage channels and inappropriate dumpsite at the market . The retrieved were submitted to the waste management authority to be properly trashed.

Two events went down in Ogun as our timeout team at the Federal University of Agriculture Abeokuta partnered with JCI FUNAAB chapter, FABE foundation and the FUNAAB student union government to organized a clean-up exercise at the university. The participants of the events picked up wastes and clean inappropriate dumpsite along the university main gate along Alabata road.

The second event by Ogun state team was an Eco-sit out at Sango-Ota centered on world cleanup day, waste management, environmental degradation, climate change, pollution and possible actions to be taken as individuals to solving these crises.

Our last event to commemorate the World Clean up Day took place in Lagos as the Timeout team in the state organized a clean-up activity at the Railway line, Oshodi bus terminal. The event involved the participants in clean-ups and sensitization activity at the event site.
