Aquaworld Community Development Initiative (RN – 7236226) is a registered youth-inclusive Non-governmental organisation dedicated to implementing creative solutions to promote marine protection and deploying pragmatic approaches to improve the aesthetic values of coastal communities in Nigeria
Founded in 2019, we have been actively involved in implementing projects and initiatives to enhance the resilience of rural and coastal communities against climate change, pollution and environmental degradation in Nigeria
Aquaworld adopts a community-driven, evidenced-based and data-centric model and approach to project implementation. We believe in empowering local communities and dwellers to become agents of change and actively involve them in all stages of project planning, implementation, and monitoring. Our approach emphasizes capacity-building, knowledge-sharing, and sustainable practice to ensure long-term impact and resilience.
Objectives
- Execute grass-root projects in coastal communities to promote ocean health and improve coastal livelihoods
- Connect the younger generation with the ocean through ocean literacy
- Volunteer for activities that promote sustainability of the aquatic resources.
- Develop, empower and train students and youths to act as ocean armies.
